Charan-Po-Rantan (チャラン・ポ・ランタン) is made up of two sisters: vocalist Momo and Koharu on accordian/chorus.
“Charan-poran” means sloppy or irresponsible in Japanese, and obviously the name of this free-wheeling sister duo is a wordplay of the phrase.
Charan Po Rantan's music is hard to describe. It's a mix between Japanese pop and folk tunes. It's very happy and upbeat. Their music is a melting pot of Chanson, Gypsy music, Japanese popular music from the 50s/60s, etc. The young duo’s live performances at concert venues as well as on the street are entertaining and explosive yet mature.
